Main Cast: Danielle Jadelyn, Yael Grobglas, Yon Tumarkin, Tom Graziani
Detailed Plot:
The film begins with an old Vatican archival video documenting a terrifying supernatural event: the dead suddenly come back to life with pitch-black eyes and demonic wings, spreading terror everywhere. The footage ends with a priest warning of an ancient curseโthat if the Gates of Hell are ever opened, nothing can stop the apocalypse.
In the present day, two American girls, Sarah Pullman and Rachel Klein, decide to take a summer trip to Israel. Initially, they plan to go to Tel Aviv for a fun-filled vacation, but after meeting Kevin Reed, a mysterious traveler fascinated by mythology and supernatural phenomena, they change their plans and head to Jerusalemโan ancient city shrouded in mystery.
At first, the trio enjoys the vibrant atmosphere, exploring historical landmarks and partying in underground clubs. They befriend Omar, a local tour guide, and experience the beauty of the city. However, Kevin keeps warning them about the strange and ominous energy surrounding Jerusalem, but Sarah and Rachel dismiss his concerns as mere superstition.
The Nightmare Begins
As Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement, one of Judaismโs holiest days) begins, an eerie silence falls over the city. Suddenly, air raid sirens blare, Israeli military forces mobilize, and panic spreads. Before anyone can understand what is happening, the sky turns pitch black, and monstrous creaturesโknown as Nephilimโbegin to emerge.
According to biblical lore, Nephilim are fallen angels, creatures neither human nor fully demonic. These supernatural entities resurrect the dead, turning them into terrifying, soulless beings with glowing black eyes. Chaos erupts as Jerusalem transforms into a living nightmare, with people being slaughtered or possessed by dark forces.
Sarah, Rachel, Kevin, and Omar desperately try to escape the bloodshed, navigating through the narrow, maze-like alleyways of the Old City. But the real horror isnโt just the monstersโitโs the madness, paranoia, and fear that slowly break their spirits.
Dark Secrets and a Desperate Escape
During their escape, Kevin reveals a chilling truth: Jerusalem is home to one of the three biblical Gates of Hell. Ancient prophecies state that if this gate is fully opened, the apocalypse will begin. As the attacks intensify, Kevin becomes convinced that this prophecy is unfolding in real-timeโand that there may be no way to stop it.
Sarah starts to experience disturbing visionsโshadowy figures whisper to her, and she sees ghostly apparitions in the dark corners of the city. Something is changing inside her, though no one realizes it yet.
The Israeli military, recognizing the supernatural threat, seals off the city, preventing anyone from leaving. The survivors have no choice but to find another way out. As they navigate through underground tunnels, Sarahโs condition worsensโher eyes darken, and she begins exhibiting unnatural behaviors.
Realizing that Sarah might be turning into one of the creatures, Rachel and Omar face a terrible dilemma: should they try to save her, or leave her behind? Meanwhile, outside, the demonic invasion continues to spread, with the full force of hell about to be unleashed upon the world.
Will they escape before itโs too late? Or has Sarah already become a part of the nightmare?
What Makes JeruZalem Unique?
Unlike traditional horror films, JeruZalem blends religion, mythology, and survival horror to create a truly unsettling experience. Filmed in found footage style (first-person perspective), the movie immerses the audience in the terror as if they are experiencing it firsthand.
It also raises a terrifying question: What if the apocalypse starts in one of the worldโs holiest cities? And once the Gates of Hell are open, can anyone escape judgment?
